Octos and Lionfish

I just did a search for "lionfish" in this forumn for the past year's threads, and got 7 threads that didn't answer my question; now, the search function has been disabled (high traffic during friday lunch:) ) so I'll post the question:

Can these be kept together?

I assume they can't be kept together because the larger would try to eat the other, but I've also read that lionfish prefer to eat from the water column and won't go after bottom- or rock-dwelling animals like mandarins.

I'm no expert but as far as I know they cannot be kept together. An octo needs a dedicated tank.

Dont risk it. Neither one is a good tank mate for the other, I have both species in seperate tanks.

edit - A lion will eat anything it can fit in its mouth. Although most say you have to train a lion to eat certain foods, my lion started picking thscallops of the bottom right away. They will also eat crabs from the bottom!

Hell no! I kept a cuttlefish that ate a lionfish the same size as itself about a couple of months back.
