Almost, thanks for the link. With regards to the thread, I would rather see a healthy intelligent passionate debate, then watch lemmings jump off a cliff.

I read this a couple times and I can't figure it out: did you meant to write "than" or "then"? Both work, but have very different meanings.

In any case, I am all for a good debate too, but not followed by suicide!

I appreciate everyone's input. I've been trying to learn about decreasing nitrates and phosphates and this thread (among many others) has been helpful.

Carbon dosing can be successful, there are other ways to remove N&P as well. Personally I've used DIY food with sugar added to it and can assure all it is very successful when used in moderation. If you scroll through the "most beautiful tanks thread" there are several examples of Italian tanks using the Blu Coral Method. However adding anything to your tank should be started slowly and closely monitored.
