this is a 14g biocube. LED. easy peasy.
inhabitants:
2 clowns
sapphire damsel (dont judge me) I think they fun to watch and it is nice
scarlett shimp
emerald crab (which I would prefer to remove)
mystery mantis shrimp.
CUC started disappearing....
1.) one hermit went bonkers, got huge, and ate everyone. I should have put a larger shell in there to begin with. the hermit is gone.
2,) i have a hitchhiking mantis shrimp.
I have one main large rock that is VERY "tunnely" and have heard snapping since the tank started but never could spot it and thought this giant hermit was eating all my snails. Well, the mantis is blue and pretty small and doesnt seem to be too aggressive. he just snaps at the emerald crab (which I am removing after he pics off the bubble algae on a new sunset monti frag) when it gets too close into the mantis tunnel system area.
well, I turkey baste my rocks, but that only does so much. I NEED SNAILS! my rocks and glass are fury. I only have a 14g biocube so I dont have much options to keep the sand bed stirred (suggestions?) so I come to you for help. I'm going to try making a trap, but also might be realizing I will just be replenishing clean up clews for this mantis for a while. I don't have ANY snails or hermits in my tank right now.
oh yeah and one single little black and white legged hermit that has some how survived this whole ordeal. im starting to hate hermits. I dont know why. should I? are they good cleaner uppers? should I be buying extra w/ extra shells to be ready for them to start disappearing from the mantis? is this going to increase me bioload?! yikes!
ok, would love some helps! this is actually a copy/paste from an email to john , so sorry if it reads weird. I just thought maybe I could catch some action in here with maybe some ideas on the mantis or anyone else in the same situation.
got like 7 of these little rastas now! they unfortunately like the water dirty.
