Odyssea powerheads any good?

Just wondered if anyone uses these and if they can be used externally.

Maxi-Jet can be used internal or external. the 1200 series pumps 290GPH. if you need more flow for an external pump, Mag-Drive 9 is one that M-D makes that can be used external. trust me the 5 and 7 series will leak. i know from experience...even if the o-rings are changed out. good luck, have a great weekend!

Well the reason i ask is i need a low gph feeder pump for a recirculation skimmer. Maxijet micro jets have that horrible intake without a pipe so i cant plumb into it without modifying it. I noticed the odyssea's have the plumbing i need.

Another frustrating thing is i see there's Newjet which is maxijet for the UK but you cant get em here. They have the plumbing i need, frustrating!

I would use there powerheads in confidence. I think they work great.
