Odyssea PS75 Protein Skimmer

What are everyone's thoughts on this skimmer for a 55gal setup. I'm thinking that it might be a little too small, I would go with the PS 160 but size is a factor as it is too tall to fit into my cabinet. Are there any modifications that i could do to make it more effecient to my setup? Thanks for the help everyone
