odyssea ps75 skimmer

what I can say is a skimmer is better than no skimmer. That being said, I wouldn't get anything jebo/odyssea. I also would't skimp on anything. You will just end up replacing it later on with something good when you realize how little a crappy skimmer like that will do.

If you keep playing with it you can get it to skim some pretty good stuff, but I finally got tired of messing with it and ordered the coralife ss. Here are some is a pic of my jebo in action 2 days worth with only 2 small fish and some cleaners.

Well he's a little cheap. So im not sure if he's willing to spend more than that. I recommended he get a remora or cpr. What do you guys think? A decent priced skimmer for a 75 gallon?

Cheap and reef keeping don't mix. If he doesn't plan on spending much money I would disscourage him from starting. He is setting himself up for failure buy buying cheap stuff. I must admit, I was the same way when I started. Got cheap stuff to save money. I ended up getting all new stuff and spent more than I would have had I got something decent in the first place.

Anyway, I hear good and bad things bout the remora, mostly bad. Coralife ss would be my recommendation for a good, decently priced skimmer.

Get the coralife 125, I have one on my 55 and it pulls out the nastiest stuff around. Its the best "cheap" skimmer in my opinion.

Thats the one I use. Works great. Break in time(when the micro bubbles die down) is about a week.

Be prepared that you have the adjustment nob closed before you turn it on. otherwise it full up and come out the top.

Adjust the nob untill you the water level is flush with the bottom of the collection cup.

After a day or so adjust the level up untill the foam(eventually there will be foam) comes about 1" from the top. might take another adjestment, unill it collects the crud in a dillution you want. and its done!

Id take it over a seaclone anyday for the money.
