*off Topic* Poison Frogs for sale..

I know this is a Reef Club , but a lot of the people here have shown some interest in Poison Arrow Dart Frogs and keeping them. I am down sizing my collection a bit in order to fund a trip early next month. I won't post prices here or any of that , as I don't want to break any rules but for anyone interested shoot me a PM or an email.. Frogs will come with everything you will need to keep them going for a long while including whatever tanks they are in... Just wante to put it out there for anyone who has seen them and shown interest. The sooner the better for me as once I take the trip I won't be needing to sell them off..

For those of you that have always wondered, just see if you can set up a time and go over to Erics and take a look at the frogs. A very easy pet to care for. No water changes.
 
if i hadn't just tentatively dropped all my spare cash and then some on a new skimmer i would be in line for one...
 
Hey THanks Wayne! .. Yeah i've invested a good amount of time into research and such and I really do love the hobby. It is by far the most satisfaction i've had with any hobby thus far. Ease of care makes it all the much better... Thanks for the compliments.
 
Wow, I'd love to get some, but we had an incident with Cameron and "Newt" yesterday, makes me fear for the life of any frogs we would get. I don't think they'd like being carried around in a small dog bed, etc., lol. I think one of my favorite things about your frog tanks is all of the cool plants, mosses, and whatnot that you have growing in them.
 
Do you have much luck with the newborns/tadpoles Eric? Do you have to separate the babies from the parents so the male doesn't get aggressive? I really like the one with black and yellow body w/blue legs. Sorry for the questions, just curious as I have always admired these little guys/girls.
 
Wayne, No worries ask away.. I'm fascinated by them and anyone who ever has questions is more than welcome to ask....

The tads and newborns so far have been relatively easy for me as the ones I have had luck with are good parents. There are a few who will not raise thier own eggs past a point but the eggs are incredibly easy to care for. The aggression really doesn't come from the males who have proven themselves to be incredible parents for the most part as they are the trasnsporters for the Tads from place to place. More so it's the famles eating other females eggs. but that is solved by knowing your ratios in each group. Some groups are ok with any number of frogs of any ration and some work better with 2 males and one female. The eggs of the parents who don't raise them to frog hood are very easy to care for and grow out though. Add water, keep the temp stable and wait... As far as breeding goes this os the hobby for it ... Eggs abound and you can rapidly turn a mated pair into 20 frogs. It takes a bit of research and some patience.

The frogs you are talking about are a Tinctorius Species. Their popular name is a Cobalt. Great Great Frogs , they eat readily and are not very shy .

holy crap those are some cool pics, thanks for sharing, its like an above ground reef

i love the orange body with black cowspots for lack of a better description along with the cobalt.

I wish you luck in finding them as good of a home as you seem to have provided for them, Ill get the word out to some friends who are zookeepers and let you know if they are interested.

freaking crazy colors and the tadpoles are hilarious with their placement.

wow that is one sweet setup! if I wasn't going away for a month I def take one but sadly i can't. but seems like a cool, easy hobby, where can I get more info
