No refunds, but I will be getting store credit. The bad part is Ultimatefrags.com will be closed the entire month of December and the first week of January. I'll be waiting a long time for my credit :(

That bites

thats not very professional on their part, I can understand the whole store credit thing, but if they are not open for you I think an exception should be made and send you a refund.

Well, I'm trying to be fair and patient here. It was not his fault that DHL screwed up and I'm lucky, and grateful, that he is standing by his live arrival gaurantee.
DHL will not reimburse him for any damages other than the cost of shipping, so he's out the cost of all that livestock.
Rommel told me that DHL lost several of his packages that day, and with the Thanksgiving day off, deliveries were all 48 hours late. I'll bet he's got at least a few other customers he is having to give credit to.
I can wait. He's promised to take care of me in January with some nice cherry picked livestock, so I can be patient and understanding.

Might be better off to wait anyhow, with December upon us the carriers are probably crazy busy and the risk for another "oopsies -- forgot about your package again" type incident is probably larger than just waiting for January. Just my guess anyhow.

I realize that this doesnt exactly apply in this case....
But,
I always have my packages (livestock) held for pickup at a location nearby so I dont have to wait for the deliveryman to arrive at my house...meanwhile the livestock bounces around in either a very hot or very cold truck...

Just a general heads up....but I also would refrain from ordering anything alive over the holidays.....unless it had an ironclad guarantee....

Hope this works out all right for you,

Nick

Hope it all works out. Alot of people have good luck with mail order, so hopfully your next order will come in great. I agree with Tony, December is probably not the best month to get you fish in the mail. Mybe they will get something cooler, and wait will be worth it. Let us know how it goes,

Michael

The anenome wasn't going to survive being dyed anyways. It stinks about the clowns & maximas though!!!

Not true,
I've seen anemone's survive after being dyed. They return to their normal coloration if they are taken care of properly. It take time and some extra care, but they can survive.

Nick

maxx 11 is correct some die some can be brought back - it takes a while for the nem to regain its natural coloring but it does come back - just came across this thread and my intial impression was that it was dyed... sorry for everything that transpired.

Anemone's dont always ship well, and brown is a relatively boring color. By dyeing the anemone a vibrant color, (nuclear yellow, hot pink, etc) the animal looks more exotic and will sell faster to unsuspecting newcommers to the hobby...

Bad business. Anemones that are dyed are difficult to bring back to full health....but it can be done.

so why do places dye them in the first place? Is it all just a greed thing?
Its to simply get our business. "Oooh...look at that hot pink Crispa, lets get it"

sonofgaladriel, its not your fault at all. I think you were doing the right thing by buying it and trying to bring it back for the anemone's sake. I would have done the same.;)
