Oh what have I done!

I am in the process of joining the Large tank club. I picked up my new AGA 210 Reef ready (72"L x 24"W x 29"H) yesterday from Planet Reef, and with the help of Dert42, two of my non-reef buddies and a uhaul van, we somehow got it into my basement.

My camera has shot craps, so when my wife sends 'em to me, I will upload some pics of the tank and stand for comment...

The stand is not finished, that is, it is just the structure. I will be cutting holes for plumbing this week, as well as installing a couple of outlets in the wall behind this monster.

Then in the next few weeks, I will be putting a facing and some doors on the stand. Then it will be time for canopy design :)

Weee!!!

Thank you... When Planet Reef was doing their "at cost" tank sale, I brought my wife in to show here the place and to have her tell me "no" on the new tank... well she said "that's a good deal" and BAM out came my card before she could change her mind :D

Congrats

But I don't think it's going to be all that different from taking care of your current tank. Your sig says you have a 120g, right?

Currently my 72 and 120 are right next to each other in our dinning room. I will be selling the 120, and moving the livestock to the 210. I will also reconnect the 150g rubbermaid stock tank back up as my sump and connect the 72 and the 210 to that.

I will slowly start adding complexity to my husbandry as time, money and they wife allow...

hmmm lots of double posts yesterday... internet was acting funny...

I haven't really thought of a main focus yet for the 210, but for the 72, I am thinking of a lion fish

Wow... I am slow. So the tank will finally be full of water tonight - had to replace the ro/di filters. I was really wanting to document the whole tank setup process with a camera, but that just didn't work...

Question: If I connect the 210 to the shared sump of the 120 and 72... I wouldn't truly have to wait before I start moving the 120 stuff into the 210, right? I would start a DSB in the 150g sump and slowly remove the DSB from the 120. I figure wait until January then I can get rid of the 120.

Thoughts?

FWIW, when I upgraded I just switched since I had such a large volume in the sump to help with cycling. No sps casualties at all.
