Hey all,

Someone passed this link on to me thinking we could use it as a way to drive membership. While I'm not sure we'd see enough return to make it worthwhile, I figured I'd still pass on the link because it could be a cool event anyways.

Jennifer,
It's not a short term return idea at all. But your drive membership idea could be sound.

If exposure and letting folks know you're out there and for the saltwater and reef hobbyist then if the club can afford $300 and can have volunteers to man the booth to answer questions it's the way to go.

If it was something that you'd decide to make a go for it? I would volunteer to assist on this in a second. I've done these things on other hobby/interest groups so it's just PR and helping answer any questions and having a slide show/video running and or a mobile display tank setup. I have a 20 mobile reef rig that would fit the bill in a heartbeat.

Boy oh boy, I wish C-Sea had Paypal payment capabilty like CORA...why I'd even pay my dues...I just keep forgetting to ask my wife if we have enough to write the check...and print the form...and get the address...and find a stamp. Just takes me away from all of this.

We talked about trying to find a a more cost effective version of paypal at the board meeting, hopefully will have more to talk about by mext meeting or so, I'm not sure we could get the $300 rate until we have our 501(c)3.....but since there is interest I'll give them a call, it'll keep me out of trouble while Scott's out of town

That's funny...my wife's out of town. I'm moving tanks in my basement...you and Scott saw that quagmire...So here I am keeping out of trouble.

Hey all,

Since there was interest, I called and talked to them today and there are still spaces available, and we could have a booth there for the $300 price. If this is something you are interested in, please post, or contact me or another board member so we can discuss it at the next meeting and know where the membership stands. We could pass out informational flyers and answer questions and maybe even sign up new members right there on the spot (if it seems feasible)

Let me know if this is still something there is interest in, or if you don't want to spend the money.
(15 new members out of the 2 day expo makes us break even)
