Ok... Photo Shoot question...

I am an actor, i have done many shot intependant films, and plays, and whatnot, but i ahve never done a photoshoot. This author want sme to be on the cover of her book, and she wants to know how much i want for the shoot. It will most likley be a one day shoot and will be in Sarasota... From what i ahve seen around before, i think $150 is the right price to ask, but is that too mlittle? or too much? does anyone on here have more expereicen with these sort of things, whether you be a photographer, or model...??? Please help me out here...thanks

Well if you are driving to Sarasota for 150 bucks, I would say not enough personally. We put our daughter in it and the average rate the agency expected was 125 per hour with a 3 hour minimum. Mileage was also included as well. If you are unsure, I'd at least hit up mileage and tell her 75 per hour with a 2 hour minimum. Can't be too cheap.

Is she already published or is this her first. You did not say what type of book, But I am wondering if it is a romance novel. If so and she has published in the past, you need to keep this in mind.

Covers do sell books if it is a Romance

Also are you trying to break into this type of modeling and will anyone even know it is you on the cover.

150 is probably about right but do add in mileage, If she has never published before. If she has then I would say at least double that or 100 per hour with a 3 hour minimum.

Doing the DJ thing, and playing the haggle game. Do like above or, $100-150 plus expenses (Transportation, food, lodging, ect.)

Also Sarasota is a rockin place (to retire) because it has an Aquarium you can visit called Mote Marine Labratory And the beaches there are really great as well as St Armands key - if you know, you get a chance to poke around there.

I agree with what other folks have said - a reasonable price + expenses to get down there. If she wants you that badly for her book I think it will sound reasonable to her

OK that is cool, thanks guys. I will let you know what the book is called and what not, but it wont be for a while though, i mean, if the shoot isnt til june, the book wouldnt be out for a while. I sent her an email asking for $150 and hour plus mileage..... thanks for the advice, i added that i am free for suggestions and if she think that that was too much to ask, then to let me know, but i think she sont mind that price atall though.... Thanks for the help!!!
