So earlier I posted t hat I have what looks like Cyanobacteria (red algae) in my tank. Some of you guys helped me out by saying its probably due to phosphates. As I sit her thinking about it I realized that I have a rather large piece of Texas Holey Rock in my tank. Being a rookie, I didn't do anything to the rock before putting it in.
I have a bunch of other live rock in there so the beneficial bacteria colony shouldn't be affected too much if I remove it. What do you guys think? Remove it?
If I remove it, I would like to put in some BRS Reef Savers dry rock. If I do should I do anything to it before putting it in my tank?
Sorry for the long post...
55 gallon FOWLR for now, planning on growing corals after I get the aquarium squared away...I have a Fluval 406 canister with Clear FX Pro media running in it, Eshopps PSK 100h Skimmer.
