OK, so I'm an addict.

Yep. That's right.

So with KMP's help I went and picked up my 'dream' tank today...

Used custom built eurobraced Oceanic 5x2x2 150g w/dual corner overflows.

Now I gotta figure out how to get that 300lb monster out of my truck. I'm talking about the tank, not KMP.

Let the sickness wash over me. My name is Kevin and I am a reef addict.

At one point it was on the craig list, but I think the guy let the listing expire when I expressed interest. He was really cool about it when I told him I wanted it but had to go to the desert for 2-3 weeks. I full on told him to go for a sale and didn't expect him to hold it, but he did. Anyway, when I got back and he still had it, I got over as fast as I could.

I need to start working on the DIY stand (I may have some wicked design help here) and when I can work up some more cash I think I'm going to call Keith Grandt (cool MARS raffle custom sump guy) to start on a new grande sump. However, the sump is optional at this point. Fortunately, most of my equipment will transfer to the new tank and other than necessities (stand) most upgrades are optional - At least for a while...

Kevin,

The first step to recovery is admitting there is a problem. Now......how can we encourage this addiction?

Wow, you guys want pics already!?!

So what kind of tank will it be? On our current main system we've had an evolutionary tank: Started as LR, called in the inverts, a few softies, added LPS, clams, then macroalgae, an anem, and dabbling in SPS now. So it's a wild garden really. But I honestly don't know what direction the new main tank will take. Eventually we want a dedicated SPS system, but I think the garden theme will continue for now in the show tank.

I am happy to state for the record that I have been one of Kevins dealers. I am glad to see that this has caused him great financial issues and a major loss of free time. Reef on and call me if you need a "fix".

I live right in town and can help lift heavy things if needed...shoulda called me. Anyway, that tank should be sweet your current one is. If you need help (mostly lifting as im still really noobish) feel free to call me.

Steven

Your whining to early, you still need to make it through purchasing/setup of any other hardware. Then you start freaking out. After that you ignore the price of livestock and figure that your that far all ready, you'll just get one or two items when you go to the fish store. Then you have issues not going to the fish store everyday.

Sounds like your gonna have some fun! Enjoy the Gallons.

Thanks. Paul was givin' the stuff away. That's partly how I got hooked.

Thanks for the offer of help Steven.

JAnwyl -- I'm beyond that. I'm knee deep in the addiction as it is and making the decision to step up to a big boy tank so I can lay down to roll in it. The addiction that is. Most equipment I have will transfer.

Ahhh... The uncarved stone.

You weren't kidding...that thing IS a Monster! Built like a tank. I wish I had more room but this little cracker box house I live in could only handle a 90gal! I need to get rid of some kids I guess!

My name is Matt and i'm an addict too.... Looks good man, and i do believe the squamosa clam will appreciate a massive tank dedicated to it. Great score! I bet you feel like the hobby is doing this to you right about now...
