Ok taking bets. How long before...

Ok my first clown has recently found the Magnifica, it's natural host in the wild. It only took 8 months. Felt like a decade.

So I'm about to free a second clown, black and white Osc, into the tank from its acclimation container. It's about an inch long, done great in QT for almost a month. Tank transfer, Prazi, etc... Both are tank breed, Sustainable Aquatics.

Alright, let the predications begin.

It really depends on your established clown...whether they bond or not. Even if they bond your established clown may hog the anemone for a while.

cant tell what we are trying to predict... whether they will pair?? whether the new one will hose aswell?? how long it may take for the new one to host? what

Yeah, a lot things can happen. I'm hoping the other fish in general don't bully the new guy.

Ok, performed the transfer. Very interesting.

1) I tipped the acclimation container towards the Mag. The clown swam down and away from it.

2) After 30 seconds the original 3" standard Osc, probably female kept poking out of the nem, swimming about 12" away and poking the B & W clown.

3) She kept swimming out and poking for about two minutes. Each time going quickly back to the nem. Almost like, get over here.

4) After two minutes, the B & W entered the Mag. TWO MINUTES. Here I was worried about the little 1" clown getting killed or bullied, it went right in. Happy as a clam. 8 months, to two minutes.

5) Here's the strange part now. The larger 3" clown is the one turning on her side and shivering. Probably at least 5 times the mass of the smaller one and it's hanging outside of the nem, giving dominance to the little Napoleon.

6) After a few hours, original clown just outside, little guy loving it inside. Normal? Do the females ever submit to the males?
