Ok to lean rockwork on the glass?

I am in the process of resetting up my 150gal after Katrina (poweroutage) wiped it out, and a move forced me to tear it down. I am wanting to know if it is ok to use the back glass as support for the rock work? When I set it up the first time I tried not to prop the rock work on the back glass but this made the rocks unstable and wasted alot of space. I'd like to prop some of the rock agains the back glass if this is ok.

Thanks
Jason

i agree you will be fine unless you are wanting to keep the back glass clean of coraline which will not be easy but if your not worried about looking through the back then you'll be fine

in the year so it was set up I never cleaned the back glass I kinda liked the red stuff that grew on the back. The back is against a wall, I always just cleaned the sides and front.

no problem with that especially if it lends stability to your pile of rocks ( better than having your pile fall into the glass) - try to arrange so that water flow is not as blocked as much as it could be. Some life you may want to grow on the glass like perhaps GSPs. Just place the rocks with life you don't want to grow on the glass away.

I *had* to do this with my 10 gallon nano. I think it's fine, but try to make sure you have flow dead spots back there. :)

I have an urchin in the tank that is constantly knocking over rocks, I want to try to make things a little more stabble when I put it all back together.

you could make daps of epoxy safe for water at rocks meeting points

Just try to keep the amount against the rock to a minumum so there is flow past it. Maybe aim a pointed portion of the rock back against it not a large flat part.
