OK to lose wet dry?

I actually have two questions

First, I have a 125 reef(various leathers, polyps, roughly 120 lbs LR) that I am currently running a wet dry on and a reef devil skimmer in a separate sump, today I also hooked up an Aquazone 200mg/hr ozonizer to the skimmer. So, would it be safe to lose the wet dry?

Second, is it possible to over skim? I also have a kent nautilus TE, and was wondering if it would be wise or not hook it up in the absence of the wet dry? So I would be running the reef devil w/ozone and the nautilus together

Thanks for for all your advice

I am sure others will chime in with thier oppinions so heres mine. Take it for what its worth.

1- wet/dry is not absolutley manditory but the more you stock your reef the larger the load will be for simple live rock and skimming. I dont know what kind of trates you keep, or how large your load is fishwise.

2-to overskim, yes absolutley possible. Much of what skimmers pull is disolved organic waste, but trace elements are in very small amounts in most tanks. Overskimming can, and will pull out your trace if you dont regualrly replace with waterchanges or have too large of a skimmer on the given tank.

Everyone focuses on Cal, Alk and PH.........Iodine, iodide, strontium, montiblenum and mag are the ones that hurt to lose when no regular watchange shedule is in place.
