OK... where's my magnet??????

It's now been two months since I ordered AND paid for my Tunze 6200.50 magnet (SO#134382). I was told via email the day of the order that shipment was expected in two weeks.

I phoned over a week ago to check on the order and was told that I was #1 on the waiting list, and that shipment was expected the following week. Since I've received no email ship notification, it appears that hasn't happened either.

I understand the high demand for these things, and that you can only get them as fast as your supplier allows. Two weeks turning into two months, however, is starting to stretch things a bit.

Can you confirm my position on the waiting list, and give a reasonably accurate estimate of when this will actually ship?

I believe I saw on the TUNZE forum that they have been held up in customs. I called MD yesterday and they still have not received them
 
Ah, Murphy's Law at its best. Thanks for the tip.

(Was it a recent post... I just took a quick look over in the Tunze forum, and couldn't spot the thread. Searching for "Tunze" and "customs" only points back here)

I was think about ordering a pump from them, but maybe I'll wait for premiumaquatics to get it in. Seems they would at least monitor here since it's their forum.
 
Yeah, I know what you mean. I've spent over $3k with Marine Depot over the past year, but Premium Aquatics is right up the road - I get next-day service via UPS ground when I order from them. All other things being equal, I don't think MD will be seeing any more of my money.

Just had a phone call and series of email exchanges with Keith at MD. who could not have been more helpfull. Bottom line is that the magnets 'may' ship next week.

For anyone else posting here and expecting a response from MD. he also mentioned that the guys who normally monitor this forum have been swamped with other work related issues lately, but they'll try and have more a of presence here.

I apologize for the delay in responses to the threads here on RC. As Dave has stated we have been very busy here at Marine Depot.

As far as the magnets go, we are still backordered on them. We have had them on order with Tunze, but as you all may have already known there is a shortage of them worldwide. I do see that Roger and Tunze in Germany are doing their best to get them to us. Roger has told me stories of long days and nights over at the factory to get the work done.
