of these Damsels.

I got 2 yellow-tailed Damsels... I bought them not for the cycling reason... but I have had them a long time. I was going for 'hardy'... well, they are hardy... and just absolute bullies. I bought a Lawnmower Blenny tonight, thinking that he would be pokin around on the rocks... and they would leave him alone... well, apparently, I was wrong. I can't take it anymore. They killed 4 Green Chromis when I first got them... I thought there were killing themselves by fighting, but when the last one went... I found a new culprit... They even killed the third yellow-tail that I had. So I gotta get them out. The new store I found said they would take them, no problem. So now... I needa catch them. Is there any tried and true method of doing this? The tank is fulla rock... and I don't wanna destroy it.

Anyone got any experience or tricks?

I know there are some things that you can blast them with. It wont destroy the live rock, but it could hurt the fish.

Awesome... I think I even have a container like that!!!

I will give it a go tomorrow! Thank you!

I'll let you borrow this piece of equipment once you get them out of coarse.

I hate damsels! :mad2:
Good Luck.

I probably got very lucky when I tried this, but it worked on the first shot. I had a yellow tail and a blue. I darkened the room and cut the lights to the tank when they were hanging out near one of the corners. I used a bright flashlight to blind them and was able to scoop them out with a big net together on the first try. I know, pretty lucky. Cuz I put them in 12 gal and couldn't repeat the process with the same fish without tearing it up. It may be worth a shot and isnt too much trouble.

Yea... they are not interested in the slightest...

I REEEALLY don't wanna pull any of the rock out, but I might have to. Draining the water will only work if they don't get into one of their honeyholes in the meantime. Seem the rock I have is WICKED... there are caves and holes and secret trapdoors... this is why I can't physically catch them. I like the 'idea' of the hook... and the fact threy are so aggressive would make it even easier... I just don't think I like the hook part.

They are driving my new lawnmover batty. So I gotta get them out soon. I might try the sneak attack in the dark... but when the lights go out, they hide in their little cave... where ever it is.

Sigh. I need a pistolshrimp, on a stick to stun them... lol

Damn, they are fast.

I have a Blue Devil Damsel that harassed the LB I put in. How large is your Blenny compared to the damsels? I found that once the blenny grew close to the size of the damsel and had been in the tank for a while, he started asserting himself and fought back. Now the Blue Devil leaves him alone for the most part, can't hurt him anymore, that's for sure. But your guy is up against two attackers and he may not survive to grow big enough to defend himself. Hope it turns out ok for your guy, however you're able to resolve the situation.

Yea, he is a little Blenny... Lenny the Blenny is no match for them. I mean, they killed 4 Green Chromis. Lenny doesn't have a chance. I thought he might have already been beat down by them, I couildn't find him anywhere in the tank... cuz he wasn't. they chased him over the overflow wall, and he is in the C2C now. I think I will leave him there until I get the aggressors out. I just hope he doesn't go up the drain... he will just go into the filter sock... as long as I get him out soon enough, he shoul dbe fine.

Reluctantly, I called around for these #26 hooks... the 2 places I got near me that do any kind of specialty stuff (stuff that Walmart wouldn't have) and they don't have anything that small. So... I guess I am destroying my tank... to get them out tonight.

Ug.
