Hey guys!
I finally got my first piece of coral but i need some tips on what to do now.

The seller gave me likr 5 zoa polyps and a small mushroom on a big frag plug. And he sold me a zoas frag with 8 polyps on it. But the 2nd frag that has the 8 heads isnt attached to anything, how can i fix it onto a rock? Coral glue isnt an option. Any other suggestions?

I have a 20 w led white n blue ligh, i dont know if its too strong or too weak for the zoas because they are opening and then retracting back. So what do i do?

Thanks!!

I use regular super glue to mount, just make sure it says cyanoacrylate in the ingredients and you will know it's safe. I have also heard you can use a two part epoxy and can even get colors to match your rock work, but I have never used it personally. I would definitely dip your new frag in iodine, revive or Bayer before adding it to the DT just to eradicate any parasites and unwelcome hitchhiking pests for future reference. My advice would be to start them at the bottom of the tank and slowly move them upward until you find a spot they are happy at. Good luck!

I use gorilla glue GEL. It works well. I wouldnt waste your money on coral glue. It's probably just superglue gel with a fancy name.

I just purchased superglue today to knock out an aiptasia. I wasn't paying attention and got the regular superglue and not the gel. You want the gel! It is so much easier to work with and it will skin up once it hits the water.

I found aiptasia in my tank and i was considering using this method, do you recommend it?

I inject them with a hypodermic filled with boiling vinegar, get some weird looks picking those up at the drugstore but they're the only thing I've ever used that works haha

kalk paste, laser, superglue... great ways to end up with more aiptasia half the time.

superglue on bottom of plugs, small ball of epoxy rolled up, place epoxy on connection of superglue, then final step place a drop of superglue on bottom of epoxy ball, push into place and you frag won't go anywhere and this method allows for easy removal if you like to replace somewhere else in the tank. best method I've found by far. hth
