How's it going? My wife and I were thinking of going to the Oklahoma Aquarium up and Tusla, and were wondering if it was worth the trip from OKC. A two+ hour drive is enough for me to want to ask someone elses opinion. :) Thanks.

Dave

i didn't know tulsa had an aquarium, I lived there for 3 years and never knew! Geeze i need to stop staring at the tank once in awhile and get out of the house. Come on people, the man asked a question, should I take a 2 hour drive to see it? =o)

i thought it is well worth the drive....they have some of the largest bull sharks in capativity in the USA ,the big lagoon where you can feed the fish is pretty cool lottsa big tangs....there reef tanks wernt too impressive but they hadnt been open for very long so give them some time and i think they could be nice
all there fish looked very healthy.....

i will defiently be going back again some time

if you can make the time to check out a few local stores while in town ....reef revolution and aquarium oddballs always have a nice coral selection

It's well worth the drive to Tulsa, but it isn't worth the $14.05 per adult to get it. It's worth the Year Round Ofishal Membership at something like $65 and you get unlimited pass for your family for 12 months.

Adam, it's actually in Jenks. Right across the Arkansas river. Something like on the other side of 81st and Riverside. Maybe it's 91st. I can't remember.

Last year in July, we did a behind the scenes tour. It was wonderful. We got to see their holding tanks with all the sea turtles, sharks, rays, etc.

Jeeze Louis!! My pictures are huge. You can check them out here - http://s11.photobucket.com/albums/a184/TravisStevens/Personal/OK Aquarium/

Charlie, thanks for the words.

Adam, here's a link to their website: http://www.okaquarium.org/

They are officially in Jenks, which I guess is suburb of Tulsa. I'll probably be heading there tomorrow, let you know what I think. :)

It looks like they upped the price on a Family Membership, but it's well worth it. A family of four like mine can expect to spend $85 in two visits.

Family Membership ($85)
Time Offered: Annual membership
Eligible: Two Adults per membership plus up to four children. Each additional child (3-17) $20
General Membership Benefits:
Unlimited General Admission
Personalized Photo I.D. Membership Cards Showing VIP Status
$2 off the admission price for up to 5 guests per membership, with each visit
10% discount in the gift shop
Subscription to the Quarterly Newsletter
Discounts on camps for youths

okay, so who has a family membership that can take me to the Aquarium. I can be one of the "kids". =o) (maybe they won't notice the beard)

Adam I have an annual pass to seaworld if you don't mind wearing the little todler monkey harness lol. Seaworld makes $65 for a family pass seem real cheap. I paid that much per person.

To me it was worth it.

But then again I am into fish.

However when I was there I was laughing my *** off reading the stuff they had posted by the tanks. I wont tell you what it was because I don't want to ruin the impact.
