Old Clown and New Clown

I had a pair of Clowns for over 3 years then the female died (filter accident). If I get another, young/small Clown, will the one I have become the female?

That is correct so long as the new clown is smaller. They will fight it out for a day to a week or so and the larger one will become the dominant female.
