old clown fish died...replacement?

Came home from work and my old buddy clown fish had jumped out of the tank and was dead on the carpet...I had all holes covered except the one 2 inch diameter hole that he found to jump out of...Had him for 6 years and he survived two moves :sad1:

Now I am just down to a blue tang (yes I know, 65 gallon tank, but he has lived a long time and he and the clown were buddies, just like in Nemo, always swimming together: the danger of letting your kids have a vote in fish selection) and a bi-color pseudo chromis who is a year older and was kept in his place by the clown. That fish had been a big bully until the clown came along. They had a peace treaty, with the bicolor keeping to the left of the tank and the clown to the right.

At one time, I had up to 7 fish in my reef tank, but I haven't replaced them as they have died over the years (Softies and LPS) and my tank seemed to stabilize at like three fish at a time. After I finish my grief work, I want to add one fish.

What would you suggest to go with the bi-color bully? I'd want something that will be out and about, not hiding in the live rock and something that can hold its own...

the clown would be a great candidate (again) also the flamed hawkfish is another fish that would fit in BUT it's a bottom to midway fish, it all depends on what you want for the tank go to you tube and search flamed hawkfish they're aggresive and i love the way they stare you down...............

Thanks for the feedback...its funny but I had a Falco Hawkfish a few years ago who did the same thing and jumped out of the tank and we didn't find him until we moved to new house and I had to move the tank. The first move will be to cover the holes with mesh, :lolspin: THEN get a new fish...

I thought about replacing the clown with a clown, but thought I might stir things up with a new fish that had personality and would be out alot....

Why not a pair of tomato clowns? ^^^ Just lost my canary wrasse today whilst the top was off for about 10min. He flipped his way under a nearby chair and I didn't notice until it was too late :(.

Thanks guys, I have some thinking to do. With the clowns, I don't have an anemone, the guy who jumped out used to host in my euyphillia (sp?), but I have been told that irritates the coral. Thought I might move away from that, but have any of you had trouble with a clown substituting a coral for an anemone?

And when I do buy one, I'm going with Live Aquaria...shipping is expensive, but all the fish and inverts I have bought there have been healthy and long lived....
