Only equipment from the old tank the buyers of the house kept most everything they loved it. Well the husband did not sure his wife was real thrilled about it. I took the more expensive equipment with me Tek Lighting and MH's some of the more difficult items like the carpet went to (Wisconson Reef Society) WRS members since this was his first tank we left him with some easy zoos and shrooms most of the fish we easy enough to care for occassionaly I here from him and it sounds like all is well. WRS members help him as well.
I have been taking inventory this week to see what gaps I needed to fill for the build out.
Tanks plans are this so far --
180 All Glass gallon reef ready system with Center over flows x 2, this will incorporate a Tunze Wavebox at one end, 360 lbs of live rock and 180 lbs of live sand.
Considering a Neptune contollers undecided yet
Arrived yesterday an Outer Orbit 72' Lighting system 250 MH x 3 8 T5HO's and 24 moon lights built into the system, this is a 24 hour lighting system. It is probably the best I have seen on the market it has DE lights I may change the bulbs we will see once the tank is running.
Fuge - This is where the tank will dump first 100 gallon Rubbermaid stock tank, will contain micro alge and live rock I will throw in a clean up crew as well just to keep the sand stirred. Will be lit by the one of the Tek lights I have and one Pendent MH system from the old tank on an opposite schedule to the main tank. This system will also have an egg crate system with no light under neither for tubes and other low / no light filtering creatures to populate. this will be connected by PVC to the Sump.
Sump another 100 gallon Rubbermaid stock tank this is where all the mechanicals go, seperating the skimmer from the return pumps by a series of baffles. I decided on the AquaC EV 400 with a Mag 24 pump and exterior collection cup. Any monitoring system Nitrate removal or mechanical filtering would be operated from here as well. Pair of Mag 12's for the return.
Other features a year after this is setup I expect I will place a 50 gallon Rubbermaid stock tank over the sump as a grow out tank. It may go in from the start but if it does it will be the "bad guys" tank for things like mantis shrimps and other agressive inverts that pop out of the live rock.
Other than that my live stock will consist of two Black Percs and two False Percs. Regal Tang, Six Line Wrasse, another carpet when I can find one like I had in my Wisconson tank a Rose Bubble, Coral Beauty, Psydo Chromis, Yellow watchman and once the pods are in full force (meanning I can see hundreds of them just off the sand bed on the front glass) and we are sure there are no Mantis in the tank a mandrian
Corals I am big on shrooms, zoos and leathers so it depends on what is available.
Other inverts couple hundred red and blue legged hermits, brittle/serpent stars, linkus three colors orange/red, blue and purple. Sand sifting stars, 5 or more cleaner shrimp, 2 Fire shrimp, and 4 tiger tails. Besides what ever else comes off the live rock from TBS. Pulse X and green star poylops.
This system will also incorporate an Axis Water containers x 2 these are enclosed 65 gallon tanks with 6 inch diameter screw off tops. RO/DI fresh water in one and premixed sea water in the other.
=D It a long slow journey but it will be well worth it once setup.
