Older Tunze 6100 Noise

Hey

I have the older Version 1 Tunze 6100 hooked up on the magnet mount and controlled with the 7095 multi controller. I had this on my old tank and it ran great and now that I transferred it to the new tank (cleaned in vineger, etc.) it makes some noticeable noise when ramping up to 100%. Its like a hum, and you can actually hear it ramp up. When running below 50% its dead silent?

Any idea on what can be done as its a little distracting?

Thanks
Mike

I would try first double checking that everything is clean and nothing was left out. I would next try prying out the bush bearing, part 3000.620 and rotating it 180 degrees and reinserting it, it can only go in 2 ways. If it wore on one side and was previously removed and reinserted the other way it could be off center and make more noise. It could also be this part is just not pushed in all the way. Worst case I would try a new drive unit and insert all the new bearings and parts that come with it in place of the old one, part 6100.700

Will check tonight and report back..

So checked everything... and did what you suggested.

First time I made it worse :) LOL but the second time I took it apart it seems relatively quiet. I noticed the impeller assembly is a little loose. The part right next to the magnet has some play? Could this be the intermittent issue? Do you think I need a new impeller/drive unit?
