Olive snail?

Can anyone tell me about Olive snails? They are very common along the beaches in Florida, but are they safe for the aquarium, What do they eat, etc?

They are both scavengers and predators. They will scavenge dead fish, but may also catch and eat fairly large snails. You can search Reef Central for "olive" or "oliva" and find some additional information.

Cheers,

Don

have had a couple for 18 months now and they're entertaining to watch. they surface like submarines (or nasarrius) when they smell food. they're incredibly fast.

as pagoejoe stated though, proceed with caution. i know they're predators, but have not seemed to kill anything living yet - i have a mix of cerith, nasarrius, and turbos of various sizes in the same tank.
