Omega one frozen fish food!!!

My fish love the omega one flakes so I decided to give the frozen a try. I bought a pack that had 35 veggie cubes and 35 marine carnivore cubes.

After thawing them out I noticed after about 10 minutes they were still in cube form and didn't break down. I touched the cube and it basically turned into tiny little particle. Both types of cubes did this.

My fish didn't even realize it was food. It was just a cloudy mess. Does anyone else use this product and if so is this normal!?

I have always used hikari krill and mega marine algae and when I thaw out the cubes of krill it's full pieces. But for some reason none of my local shops carry hikari anymore. It's either omega one or San fransisco bay brands.

Omega put gelatin in their frozen food and i hated it. Even when i was working at LFS i wouldnt recommend it to customers because you literally have to get messy and grind it up before serving otherwise like you said its just a mess- and while it stays in a cube bigger fish recognizing it as food just takes the whole thing leaving smaller docile ones with nothing.

I don't think your not suppose to thaw the food. I used to feed my fish the veggie cubes and just plopped them in, Fish loved them till is dissolved in the water

Ok I guess it doesn't have to be thawed. Very weird concept here. I will try this tonight. Seems to me though the cube would just sink to the bottom and fish wouldn't have a chance to eat it

What a horrible food

The cube dropped in frozen drops right to the bottom and none of the fish ate it.

Food for the nass snails was about it

I know the exact food you are talking about. Had the same experience as well. I wait until night or right before the lights come on, and the powerheads are off (this is normally when I see the feeding tentacles out on some of my SPS and duncans), and dissolve it in water, and pour it into the tank. The coral seem to like it. I even get a feeding response from coral that are normally closed up when I pour it in...

Better than throwing it away, I guess...

Other than that, I find it pretty much useless as fish food...
