THIS IS GETTING BEYOND A JOKE,

my jawfish has been caught and killed by a rouge in my tank, and its on the other side, from where the one i know is, so that means i have 2. what the hell can i do to kill these things, and they have killed at least 100.00 of stock now, so i think i know whats gonna happen to them

I think the problem is you need to clarify your post. You seem to know what is killing them because you say you know where one is and our assuming there are two of them. What is "them" though? Hard to help you if we don't know what you are trying to catch or kill.

no because i have heard clicking, so could be a mantis,

and i defo have a pest crab, because i have been trying to catch it for a week

You can take a glass jar or cup, and put in in the bottom of the tank on a 50-60 degree angle. Just lean it on a piece of rock or something. Then put a small piece of raw shrimp from a seafood store or supermarket in the bottom. If its a crab he will go in for the shrimp, but the sides will be to slippery for him to climb out. I have successfully caught a nuisance crab like this. It only took about 5-10 min.

I also heard knocking, but it was the crab moving things around, and cracking all my snails shells, to eat them.

I don't know if it would work for a mantis. I think they would be able to swim out. But it will definitely work for a crab.

If you heard clicking, it is likely to be a mantis or some type of pistol shrimp. There are, however, various crabs that will take fish. Any more information?

well i defo know there is a crab, as i have been trying to catch it for a week, but the jawfish was caught and killed in a different part of the tank, but i can still see where my current pest crab is, so that means there is possibly 2

If you "defo" know there is a crab in your tank, I'd be willing to bet he'd walk to the other side of the tank for a meal.

Also, like eveyone else has said, if you hear clicking you might have a pistol or a mantis. more than likely the latter if its killing fish.

the pest crab that i know of is still where i can see him, and not where the jawfish has been killed eaten and taken into the rock, thus meaning 2 pests

me thinks im gonna just take the rocks i suspect out, and rinse in cold ro, scare the beasty's out

Are you under the impression that crabs are immobile and can't roam around your tank? The clicking does lead to the possibility of a mantis or pistol shrimp. However, just because you've seen a pest crab in a certain area of your tank, doesn't mean it can't wander around and kill or drag dead fish to where it wants.

Just for the record i had a nuisance crab for 2+ yrs. It was small and never a major problem until it got to big and started eating all my snails very quickly. But in the 2 yrs he was always in the same spot. He would move around the tank, but always slept and ate in the same exact spot. So maybe people shouldn't post sarcastic comments unless they have experience with a certain situation.
