So, I have these tiny needles that keep poking into my skin when I put my hand into the tank....... they are very hard to see in my skin because they are small I can see them if I hold my hand up to the light and they hurt, I had to take them out with tweezers. What is going on??? this is during my tank's cycle.

Sounds like you could be grabbing some rock that has some bristle worms in/on it. They're generally good to have in your tank but you don't want to grab 'em.

If that's the case I've heard vinegar helps dissolve any pieces that you can't get out easily.

you don't want to eliminate them as they're pretty efficient cleaners. If the population gets larger than you like cut back on feeding a bit. Oh, and wear gloves. Those barbs are pretty painful
