? on paint for stand

I bought some benjamine moore exterior soft gloss paint for a stand I am making. When I got the can home I noticed that it said it will make a "mildew resistant covering". I am going to paint under the stand above where the sump is going to be. Can anyone tell me if this will have harmful effect on the future tank? Could water drip off the paint into the sump and have a harmful effect on corals and fish?

Once the paint is dry, it shouldn't cause any problems. I like to pain the inside of my stands white. Killz and 2 coats of exterior gloss enamel. It makes the stand brighter inside.

mildew resistant means there is probably some arsenic in your paint. as long as youre not putting it in your tank its okay. also, i would go sanding it without a respirator. Many kitchen and bath silicones and paints contian arsenic to prevent mold.
