Once Upon A time!

in a Land far far away. There was a Guy Named Daryl you all know as xclan. (ok so nobody here knows me but thats all gunna change). I spent 1000$ or more buying equipment and maybe 500$ on live rock, and substrate. All to put together the beginnings of a nice 150 gallon aquaurium. Well skipping most of this story, my Ex Wife occupied my house for 5 months when my tank was just starting to look good. Well when I got my house back my lights were all broke, the Heaters broke, the house was vandalized(because she knew she wasnt going to get the house)...and my tank rotting, it was very upsetting beause I had spent at least 200 hours reading how to care for it(mostly here) and I had high expectations.

Well now I have this 150 gallon tank full of Cyano, because I had turned the lights on, and left them on probably way too often and they werent the correct lights for the tank(money issues)I had no choice was spending 6 to 8 months fixing the house, working 70 hours a week at work and raising my 2 year old by myself.

Now I am curious this cyano has occupied my tank for literally 7 months or more......the rock barely alive , 2 fish survived. All my shrroms dead, my zoos dead, ricordias (500$). If I build a refugium, puts lotsa macro in it, to thrive off all the nutrient in the tank will it starve the cyano? and help me control it? I am going to proceed full blast with cleaning this thing up, I am sure Phosphates are prboably high (will test), Nitrates , amonia, etc will all be tested and i will decide.......Rebuild? Start over? New tank?

I have a corner 75 gallon tank that I am considering using, clean it up(its empty), put a 150hqi and 2 actinic t5 bulb setup i have never used on it.......

wich should I do? Buy a new hood, and VHO , PC, Halide? setup for the 150 wich will be costly.......do the refugium? and start controlling algae? or scrap it all start my new tank and count my losses? Any Ideas?

Forgot to mention My skimmer is on 24/7 and i am possibly going to add a few powerheads....maybe a tunze pump, and maybe my BackPack skimmer to get this tank a rocking till everythings under control....water flow is defineately lacking at the momoent with didnt make a problem considering I used to maintain the tank daily and do frequent water changes......times have changed

Multiple water change's would be a good place to start.:spin3: Just 'cuz U can't see much on your L.R. does not make it almost dead(can't see bacteria/+cool thing's can"sprout"from the rock up too{2}year's after intro). Hopefully with some of your $ spent, your purchase's inc. a quality protein skimmer;) You can defeat the cyano-battel!!
