One Astraea helps another turn over

I've noticed a couple of my Astraea snails turned right side up after being upside down, but they are not able to do this themselves. Today I watched as one Astraea lay upside down and another came along side to help. The upside down Astraea attached to the other to turn himself up right. That's teamwork.

Wouldn't it be great if all of the little critters helped each other right themselves? When one of my hermits ends upside down, the others just point and laugh.

That's not a normal Astrea, but a spiny or ninja star Astrea. I have 15 or so in my tank and had always heard they couldn't turn themselves back over. Normally when I feed my fish at night i'll have a look and see if there is any that need turning over. Sometimes I see one right after and figure i'll flip it the next day and then it will not be in the same spot, I always wondered about it but I think you have just figured it out. I'll watch out for this in the future. Also, does this prove snails can show empathy?

Either that or they enjoy messing with each other. I notice my Nassarius either fighting or doing the bump and grind on a regular basis, my Ceriths seem to keep their distance from each other.
