One blue green chromi hiding

I have 3 blue green chromis, all a year and a half old. They were the first saltwater fish I ever bought and have never had any issues aside from the largest downsizing the original school of 5 to 3 with his aggressiveness.

Well... I think it's the largest (named Grouch) who has been hiding for last few days under a plateing monti. He's darted out a few times but is staying under that monti almost exclusively... Including during feeding.

The 120 gallon tank he's in is only 4 months old as all inhabitants made the switch from an original 65. Params are about as perfect as I've ever had them... So that can't be the issue.

No other signs of stress in other tank life... Everything from corals to fish to inverts like a Rose BTA and two cleaner shrimp are all doing great.

Is this a sign the chromi is sick? Lifespan on these fish?

SOS... I love my three original pets!

He is probably being bullied by the other chromies. Typical chromis behavior in aquariums. They will usually dwindle down to 1 or 2 over time. I started with 3 about 7-8 years ago and now have 2, one of which hides more than the other.

Thanks for the info.

So I should expect to be down to two here soon?

Bummer.

Realize this may be grasping but... no chance that the one in hiding is protecting eggs?
