One of my biggest fears happened-- today

So I have said before that I put my tank on "auto pilot" for the summer and left my roomate to watch over it. I think it's been 11 weeks since I originally left Knoxville for the summer. I went back 2 weeks ago to move EVERYTHING into the new house, and only had 2 days to do so. Everything went well, with the exception of having a ton of stuff still in boxes and stuff of that nature (didn't have a chance to unpack). I got a call tonight from my roomate tonight saying that whe he came home the electrical breaker was smoking, half my tank's water was on the floor, the power in my room (where the tank is) is off and the insulation under my room was damaged. :eek1: By his discription it sounds like I did a quick fix of a leaky return hose, obviously not a good one, and if gave out and leaked. So he wanted to know what to do for right now  I told him to basically make sure that the heater is on, and I would let him know. I called Chris, thanks again Chris, and asked if he could go out to see how bad it really is. Hopefully it is not that bad.

So my plan is this -- Hopefully Chris says that it can wait till the weekend. I can come down to Knoxville Fri-Sun to move/ setup the new tank-- if Chris can have the 40br ready and my roomate is not spooked about aquariums now (he did just buy that house). It's only a 9 hour drive to knoxville.

My other question is, do anyone have any suggestions??? Will anyone be able to help with the move this weekend if that has to be done???? Thanks everyone in advance.

Dang... I'm going to be out of town unfortunately and will not be able to help you otherwise I would. Hope all goes well and prayers are with ya!

Chris took a look at the damage for me-- Thanks Chris. I did a quick tape job on a hose in the back for my return, and it blew. There was suction from the tank to the sump then floor :eek2: Floors are warped a little, and there is a dehumidifier running in the crawlspace under the room now. Chris said there was some dead corals, but probably not from this. Other than that, he said things look OK-- for now. Roomate is waiting for things to dry out some more before he tries to use any electrical outlets in the room. Hopefully it's OK or just a fuse in the breaker.

So.. new plan. Coming down to knoxville this weekend (probably fri-sun depending on how busy I am at work) to fix the hose, and reset up this tank. New tank will be set up in Aug (hopefuly the 13th and 14th)as planned. Anyone who wants to come and have a great time setting up a tank is more than welcome to come join any of the festivities-- I'll even feed you and show you my 2 ultra top secret projects I have been working on. See Mel, you are not the only person who can keep secrets-- top secret fish.

Hey Paul,
I've thought about it and the tank would probably be OK for a couple more weeks if your roommate just put the lights on (on a reduced photoperiod) and kept it topped up to the level it is now. That is if you really don't feel like driving 10 hours and feel like taking the risk.
Chris

I think I may be all risked out at this point. Plus he you and him have helped out alot, so.... here I come this weekend. Hopefully it won't be that bad of a drive-- Cyn's coming along.
