Came home tonight and the ff is clearly in distress. Labored breathing discolored and flaring. Water is all wnl and everythi g sy in the tank is having a great time.

Param:
Ammonia 0
Nitrate 0
Nitrite 0
Dkh wnl of tank 10 ( no sharp changes)
Calc as well.
Phos trace ammounts (waterchange comes tomorrow so thats to be expected)
Temp 78.6
SG 0.023

I really got nothing on this. Tbh I expected to see something in the water... but nada.. any ideas will help dont think he will make it through the night

Was this fish quarantined? Other fish in the tank? Tank size? I'm assuming you meant a s.g. of 1.023 ? I'm also not big on zero nitrates, usually means the bio filtration isn't working right or bad test kit. Should always be some present even if a very small amount.

Yes SG is 1.023
I will double check on the nitrate levels this afternoon with a different test kit and see. You are correct and that should be a red flag that there is no presence of Nitrate.

Tank size is 75 with about 75-80 lbs of LR in the DT. Other inhabitants include

Coralbanded shrimp
fire shrimp,
handful of hermits (blue and white legged, probably 5-8
horse shoe crab
Straberry crab
emerald
two turbo snails
three nass snails
two rock anemone
one pink Haitian anemone
one bubble tip anemone
Two colony polyps
One waving hand
one scissor tail (was paired the other took a leap of death at my clumsiness for leaving the tank open overnight)
one bicolored chromis
one tank bred Ocellaris
and a host of pods

FFOS was QT'ed for two weeks, and in the DT for... about 5 days before he decided he was not happy with... something...

(side note yes the Horse Shoe crab will be crowded, I have a much larger tank in the works for him and it will be done and cycled by the time he is ready to move)
