just differnt light i suppose, i got it from a reliable source, and verified by some one at abc reefs that i trust.

From only looking at those pics I also think that has a chance of being a todd's knock off.

But who really cares what someone wants to name it, sweet piece regardless.

great looking torch. i've seen "todds" look short and pale and dark and long depending on flow, lighting, etc. other than green/pink tips , is there any way to identify as the real deal?

thanks Mike, the gold one i picked up at ABC aquarium down by rochester. The rest, The todd's i got from Magdelan, a member her at URS. He broke down his tank last month.
If he chooses to chime in thats fine, but I'm not going to ask him too.

The torch that Adam currently has, I bought from ABC Pets in Fairport about 3 years ago. It was a single head and was sold to me for $75 as a Todd's Torch. After posting various pictures of it here, on URS, no one ever told me differently. So I have never had any reason to doubt that it is the real deal. HTH

Ditto on appearances. My T's torch looked different in many pics over the years but the authenticity was without doubt. Sometimes the tips even looked white vs. pink.

The ONLY way to identify as the real deal is being able to track lineage aka the line of ownership that it has come from. And the more "common" it has become, the harder that can be.

For what it's worth I'm aware of times in the past where ABC has actually verified lineage of Todd's.

Sandworm I feel your addiction to the torches I too have a similar addiction now if I could just figure out how to take a decent pic with my kodak z740

very much so. I tried for a long time to figure out the best place for them regarding light and flow where they could be free and wave happily:wavehand:
