Anyone use Vivid? I've heard some good things about them and they have everything that I'm looking for. Guess I'll have to check DD for all that's on my list.

Bluezoo also has what I'm looking for so any reports would be great.

I have used Vivid for corals and inverts and have been very happy with the animals as well as with the packaging. On the two occasions I had to contact customer service, they have been excellent. When I go to order some fish, I was planning on ordering from them.

I will never purchase from BlueZoo again. I let a credit expire so as not to ever have to deal with them again.

I have purchased many fish from LA and have often been really surprised at the color/size of the animals. I have a stock tomini tang from them who is just gorgeous! I still have a giant Citrinis Clown Goby (got him in December, could not believe how big he was) from them who has not eaten well since I got him, but that is not their fault. I had received an absolutely gorgeous stock flame angel from them a few years ago.

I have also been happy with the fish I have purchased from DD. I had some packaging issues ~6 months ago (snails shaken to death because not enough peanuts, fish arrived COLD), but the managers there seem to fixed that as of the last time I ordered. The last DD fish I ordered did not make it because there was a shipping delay (not LA fault), and he arrived 4 hours late barely alive... he did not make. LA refunded the full amount for the fish as soon as they got my e-mail, but I am still pretty bummed.

after reading this I have to say I feel pretty lucky with the LFS we have in AZ, there are a lot of them for a land locked desert state and we have some that QT their fish(and coral) properly before selling. So I dont mind getting from them, another one that has good QT practice and also gets some of the more rare fish in occasionally as well.

That said if I were to order online, I would only use LA/DD, NY or Vivid based on the many many reviews I have read. Honestly the only thing preventing me from getting all my fish online is the shipping cost(when related to the more common fish I can afford) when related to more rare expensive fish it is well worth it.

For the actual physical store, a lot more coral than fish. I'm not sure if they ship directly from their wholesaler or not. That said, a very nice store with a lot of fragging going on!

In general I prefer to pick myself in local stores.

I have to totally agree with you about picking things myself. Just sucks where I live there isn't any decent lfs within a 3 hour drive ONE WAY :eek1:

Vivid Aquariums is excellent, great shipping and products and customer service.

I've had a bad Bluezoo experience and will not go back.

DD also very good, at least for now.
