onyx and rod's offspring

It looks like your broodstock are a Grade B Picasso (semi-picasso) and an Onyx (I can't say for sure what the lineage is since it doesn't have a black dorsal fin, could be wild caught). It's a nice looking pair.

The offspring would be Onyx-Picassos. I think there are a couple vairations on the name like oncasso, picasso-onyx, etc... They could be valuable depending on the amount of black that develops. The black would normally fill in by 9-12 months if they are true Onyx.

It's just a misbar. I have an offspring from my pair of c-quest onyx that I nicknamed a "tearddrop" onyx because of the same barring pattern. I can try and grab a pic later today but I'm about to head out on some errands.

Whatever clever maketing name you can give them.

Before fish became a fashion breeders would have simply called them Culls.

Seems we have a E. Scrooge outbreak! :)

I used to think the same way. Those 'culls' are starting to grow on me. I especially like the higher price tag. If you spend all the time and effort raising them, it would be nice to get a reasonable return on your efforts!

very nice fish, im also getting the same spots on my picasso offspring, they will be very nice once mature, goodluck with your efforts...
