onyx clown paired with a perc.?

I had a pair of beautiful onyx clowns... except the female just died. So I was wondering if I could pair the male with a regular percula clown rather than an onyx. Thanks!

percula and onyx are really the same fish just different color patterns

Since they are both Perculas it should be fine .
