onyx question...

Does anybody have a 175 gallon with a pair of onyx clowns and another pair of a different type of clown? My scenario right now is we have a 175 gallon reef with a pair of black and white saddlebacks, they arent aggressive at all and hardly defend their anemone, do you think it would be ok to put the onyx clowns in there with them? If anybody has success with more than one pair of clowns I would like to know. Thanx,
Chris

Saddlebacks can be quite aggressive towards other clowns. They don't care much about non-clowns, their haddoni carpets can take care of themselves.

If you put in the onyx on the other side of the tank with their own anemone, it might work. Of course the saddlebacks might just decide they want both anemones and try to remove the the onyx from the area. Unless you have a way to get one of the pairs out in a hurry (usually not the case in a reef tank), it is a risky proposition.

The best scenario would have been to add the onyx's first, then saddlebacks later, but the saddlebacks still can be pretty aggresive, like previously mentioned, I'd follow phender's advice, tho.
