Open Brain Problem

2 days ago I bought my first open brain.
It wasn't looking that hot yesturday but I figured I'd give it another day. Today I wake up to see that it is definitely worse.
My levels are all fine and I can say 100% that they are 10x's better than the pet store I bought them at.
Anyways, the problem with it is you can see the skeleton all around the mouth already.
Now the only thing that is different from the stores tank and my tank aside from water quality is the lights. They had this brain in a tank in the sandbed with HQI lights on it.
I only have power compact but I ordered T-5's so I figured the brain would be fine for a week until I get the T-5's.
So my question is has it started receding because of the light difference or is it just unhealthy because it started to recede in one day of me getting it.
Also, it is in my sand bed now....should I try moving it up?

Thanks for any help in advance,
Zac

I just temp. acclimated it.....I don't drip acclimate any of my corals. I don't have any pics right now.
Parameters:
SG: 1.025
temp: 82
PH: 8.2
ammo, nitrites: 0
Nitrates 10
Calcium 420-440
Alk: 10 dkh

I have over 40 corals in my tank and plenty of LPS and this is the only one with a problem....

wait when yo say you temp acclimated.do you mean you just stuck the bag in your tank for a little then pt the brain in the tank? he may not be doing wel because he wasnt doing well when you got him,and now there is an added stress because he switched tanks, with all new parameters and lighting.

I was thinkin that but it looks really bad.
When I put it in the tank that first night within an hour it was looking real good.
I came home the next day at 4:30 and it also looked awesome. When I got home from my 2nd job that same day at 11:00 the skeleton was visible.
Today it just looks twice as bad.
I also put it a little higher up in my tank for now, do you guys think that is a good idea?
