Open brain the culprit?

Well today when I woke up and checked my tank, I saw to my horror my bangai cardinal being munched on by my hermit crabs. Well I know they couldn't of caught him so I was wondering if my brain had managed to get its tentacles on him during the night. He did take a liking to the overhang near the brain. Guessing he got to close when he himself was feeding at night. Now what I was wondering is if any of you reefers had your fish eaten by your LPS corals?

Well I can say with almost 100% assuredy (?sp) that it was not the open brain. As long as the cardinal was healthy there is no way the brain could have got him. Their stingers are too wimpy. Now if the fish is unhealthy to begin with (or dead) a LPS can easily eat a fish as demonstrated here;

Ironically enough, my almost 3" Royal Gramma did not come out to feed today. I can't find it anywhere. My 5-6" open brain is looking all kinds of happy today....:rolleyes:

BTW, I agree. A open brain would probably never be able to snatch an even halfway healthy fish (although my Royal Gramma seemed perfect).
