Opinion - 5' lights on a 4' tank

Hey gang, getting ready to buy another tank...a 150g tall, which is 4' in length. I have a really nice set of 5' VHO's, but they will be longer than the tank is. Would there be any advantages/disadvantages to using these lights on the tank? Having an extra 6" on each side??

I wouldnt think so as far as disadvantages, JoMarrs has/had one one the half barrel display in front hanging over. The only disadvantage I can personally think of would be how it looked. But, if you hung it then it wouldnt even matter.

Yeh you could do it, but i cant tell you how many times I bump into that thing LOL. Against a wall it should be fine though IMO.
Put some bamboo in vases on each end of the aquarium, that way the light wont get totally wasted and it would make a nice composition
