Opinions on a new cube

OK people, I'm looking for a cube to mainly house my clowns and sea anemone, maybe a couple small fish, tailspots, or helfrichi's, something of that nature.
I want different than what I have now, no canopy is what I'm thinking, so I'm thinking clean rimless.
I'm thinking 24x24x24
I have a couple main questions out of my expertise or to confirm my opinion.

One, should I waste space going bigger overflow box to have 2 drains as a failsafe as I have always done, and I'm thinking 1 1/2" drain, and one 1" return.

Two, I can get a deal on a new or used starfire rimless right now, but it's 3/8" glass, and only 20" tall, one is 24" wide, the other 32" wide.
I really like 24" height, but I'm probably going shallow sand, so that I may get over, but I think I need 1/2" glass on a rimless.
It will be starfire if that makes a difference, softer glass.
Appreciate any and all thoughts or opinions.

I looked at site, don't see glass thickness for one, and two, it looks like they only do front panel in low iron.

Let's trade tanks! I have a 30"x30"x20" rimless leemar. =)

Lol, my tank has been sold already, scrambling to get a cube built or bought so I can pull my clowns and nem, all I'm keeping pretty much.
Besides, I really want a 24" high tank.
I'm surprised w/ all the views there are so few opinions, usually people here aren't shy on giving their opinions to me!

Dave, have you looked at SC aquariums? That's who made mine. 24x24x20h
3 sides starfire

Yes, in fact I started a thread in the local club forums checking on them, and that is what made me check here as to what glass thickness should be for a cube being my number one concern.
That's where I'm getting my numbers/dims, but again I want 24" tall and they don't have that, and I'm thinking a rimless should be 1/2" glass and not 3/8", especially since I'm going w/ a taller panel.
I think that is why they keep to 20" high.
I'm concerened w/ long term, and us being in earthquake land, well, you know...
My clowns of 5 years are going in here, so I'm not wanting to skimp, and since I'm already not stoked about downsizing, the least I can do to appease myself is have a really nice cube.
But thanks for comment Duncan, that's what I'm looking for.
