Optical/Floater Level Sensors and water changes question

I am about to install GHL ATO. I will use two level sensors - optical at the desired water level and a floater installed 10" above as a precaution in case of optical sensor fail.
My question is if it's okay for the sensors being sometimes submerged underwater - during waterchanges / feed pump shut down - would that damage them?
And secondly is there an option to let the Profilux "know" there is a waterchange happening and the ATO system/alarms being temporary paused. Thanks.

Yes you can have your float submerged in water. They have a water tight seal.

Yes there is a setting in the Profilux software for water changes.

Here is a write up, a little dated but you should be able to thumb your way through it once you get to know the software.

Thanks! As for being submerged that includes the optic sensor as well, not only the floater, right?
Also thanks for the link but I do not plan on using Profilux for water changes, I just needed to know if once the feed pump is stopped and the water level raises in the sensor's /last/ sump chamber:
1. Will being submerged for a short period of time damage/shorten the life of the sensors.
2. If there is an option to "pause" the ATO function/alarms in profilux as both sensors will be submerged until the feed pump is started again.
