Optimal water height for CS2 Black Pearl Skimmer

I was wondering what is the optimal depth the CS2 Black Pearl should be submersed in.

How deep in the water is everyone running? What kind of skimmate do you guys get/desire?

Water level does not effect the cs2. It can be run from 0" (external) to 15" (height of water output) and it will not effect performance at all.

I know but does it really not make a difference. I must be doing something wrong because mine is a PITA to dial in.

It really does not make a difference, by design this is how recirculating skimmers function. Can you post a picture or two and describe how it is setup on your system?

If it is fluctuating then the most probably culprit is the feed pump set up. There could be other little factors so the pics and description will help us narrow it down.
