I wondering what would be a better place to put the coral about half way down or in the upper quarter of the tank to get the best color as i'm limited to places left. The tank is lit by a 6 bulb T-5 setup. The tank is a standard 75 gal.
Thanks
I keep mine 2/3 from the bottom under 250 MH x2. Approx 15 inches down from the light. It seems to be doing great. Started out as a tiny 1/2" frag and has now turned in to a nice mini colony with great color in only 4 months.
Best of luck. The Hawkins is an awesome looking coral.
Thanks for the help. I just want it to keep that nice blue color it has. If it was getting hit with to much light would it start to get pale?
Thanks again
sorry to hijack your thread but if i can keep birdsnest growing good do you think i could keep hawkins and purple plasma with the same amount of light?

Adam,
Acclimate the coral by slowly moving it to where you want it to eventually live. This way as it makes its way up to where you plan, it can get accustomed to light, and water flow.
