I don't know if people have seen the new dotty released by ORA, the so called Electric Indigo Dotty. Not living in the states my knowledge of their fish is limited to what we see over here, mainly the dotties, but i have never seen another pair of their normal indigo's so aren't really aware of what they are supposed to look like. I've only really seen pics on google and tbh if that is what they looked like i wouldn't have bought my pair. Seeing the article on ************ today it made me think, what are they supposed to be like?
I ask that because the picture they show is exactly like the male i have. I don't have a picture at the moment but bought two a number of years ago. They started out like the female pictured but the dominant developed into a spitting image of the one they are calling a Electric Indigo dotty. I have raised some from the initial pair and they all followed the characteristic of the parents. The male has since past and the female took on his place and colour with a couple of weeks but is now alone.
I was just wondering what everyone thought to the so called new morph, and if i'm really missing the huge difference they are talking about.
But here's the how the female looked before it developed into the male with the caudal fin extension and different colouration.
