The green in this one reminds me of "Roscoe's"

thats a cool pic, looks like 2 different corals the way the light hits it. The right side looks like my joe the coral. How far off the tank is your ati fixture?

I'm running 14k ushio's and during the summer their time will be up. I'm thinking about switching over to hamilton 20k. How long until you noticed a difference in the color or your corals? Did you notice if the growth slowed after you switched over?I have an ora joe the coral and a boreallis. they are both pretty similar. Where do most of you guys have yours placed?It seems like mine colored up a little better after I moved them down towards the bottom. I'd like to post some picks of mine but cant figure out how,sorry.

I liked the 14k Ushios a lot, they just weren't giving me the 'pop' that I envisioned for my tank. After looking at many 20K bulbs, it came down to phoenix 14k and Radium 20K. The Radium gave me the color pop I was looking for without making the water look like windex. The Radiums also scored higher in the par test for me. I haven't looked back since...

All my SPS are between 10 and 20 inches from the light source.

Yes they're acans... I slowly acclimated mine from the bottom of the tank to about 20 inches from the direct light source. They seem to really like it there.

i'm sorry, but that looks like the bellina or borealis to me. Maybe I'm wrong?

I would say definitely a belina, and that is a huge steal at 40. i beleive the lowest price you will find from anyone who knows what it is would be 56 and most often 60.

Question about placement, where have you been placing yours? I have a new frag and was playing with placement. I have a standard 120g - 24 inches deep. Lighting is ATI T5 blue (+) x2 and 250MH Pheonix 14K x2. I noticed mine is a much darker morph than the ones shown on this thread.

The higher I put mine up on the tank the lighter it got. Love my Joe!

Hi all, sorry to bump an old thread. I added a small Joe frag from liveaquaria back in July. It's been slowly dying while most of my other acroporias that I added at, or around the same time, have survived and grown. With one acro starting to really take off. Anyway, I think (hope) my Joe might be coming back. I was wondering how hardy you guys have found Joe and other similar acros to be.
I'm using cheap black box leds, but they do work.
