Nice, how did you bring it back?

I've got a Red Planet colony that hasn't been looking too hot, since I moved it from my 24 gallon with 150 watt 20k MH to my 45 gallon with 250 watt 14k MH bulbs. It still has good polyp extension, but the intense colors have pretty much lost all of the green base and turned brown.

When I first bought mine the guy at the LFS told me to place it high and lots of flow. As you can see I just about killed it. So I asked around and a few people suggested lower it and get out of direct flow.

Where is yours positioned in your tank?

Mine is 1/2 way up in the tank and out of direct flow. Parameters are KH 9, CA 420, MG 1300. System is in my signature. Gold luck!

Brown could be high nutrients in the water, have you tested for Phosphates and Nitrates? Do you have any others that have turned brown or just the Red Planet?

Mine went brown when I got it. It is getting the green back now. Once thus coral is happy it can really take off.

Wow very nice and good job, i just got a frag and im extremely excited about it lol mine looks plain green with a little red on it... i was wondering if the red would intensify as it got bigger, rite now its fully encrusted the plug and is starting grow outwards and up. Really, a splendid job!

Nice I had a small piece of redplant that pulled the same thing i gave it to my buddy and he was able to bring it back

Mine turned into a purplish brown color, encrusted the rock by about a 2 inch diameter, then just stopped everything. It's not dead...really bad PE, but they are there, and has stayed like this for almost a year. I'm ready to throw it away. :( all other corals are fine...this one just bums me out.

Mine was doing really well then STNed almost completely, alk dropped. Now that I have is fixed the RP well what little is left is making a come back. I expect in 2-3 months to havea nice 3 inch frag again.
