orange pavona maldivensis care

I know this straddles the sps lps description but was wondering what people have found keeping this species. Most of the info i've come across is a couple of years old and divided to say the least. Older info mentions it needs lower flows and light and maybe best in a shaded spot out of the current. However more recent posts suggests that intense light and moderate to strong current are needed for colouration, growth and for it to thrive. So it appears similar requirements to acro's.
I have several acro's growing well under my AI sol and plan to acclimate this to a similar level in the tank which has decent flow. Seem a sensible plan? at the moment it is on the bottom acclimating and looks healthy apart from i haven't seen much polyp extension yet. Plan to feed a few times a week as i do with the whole tank.

I have a green one right dead center about 5 in under water level under a 250 mh. It grows crazy fast and has a really nice color to it. An older reefing friend gave me the frag. I don't know many who have it. It is pretty cool looking imo. Good luck with it. It grows fast!

From what I have read over the years it is quite possible that there are lower and higher light varieties. Best to start it in lower-medium light and try working it up slowly since they can bleach fairly easy if blasted right away.

I have a copper colored variety that has done well for 4 years. Under lower light it spread out like a saucer trying to maximize light capture, but under ~170 PAR of LEDs it's growing downwards. I have found that regular feeding with a variety of small foods really brings out the rich, florescent coloration in this species.

Pavona coral have some of the most potent sweeper tentacles, and this one is right up there. Mine is on it's own little LR pedestal to keep it away from everything else.
